Flannel Friends

To those who have been reading my blog for a while, do you remember my flannel friends drawings I worked on?

Well, last week I had a longish train ride and Β started playing around with my flannel creatures…

This came about…

Any ideas of what I could develop out of this? Maybe it would be better if the animals were represented individually?

Anyways, I’m not sure what possessed me to pull it up on my train ride…

A Colourfully See-Through Friday for Secret 7 & Record Store Day

Today was Record Store Day.

I was lucky enough to have my submission for The Cure’s Friday I’m In Love chosen as one of the vinyl artwork’s displayed and sold for charity — The Teenage Cancer Trust– here in London.

The exhibit was at the Idea Generation Gallery.

For more information on Secret 7″ visit their website. I hope that they have another one next year. It’s a fantastic way to raise money for such a worthwhile cause.

I can’t tell you how excited I have been since finding out my art world be made into a vinyl cover and for my very favourite band, The Cure. I can’t wait to receive my own SIGNED copy!

Here it is…one more time…the day before someone bought it! I hope they’re happy with it. I hope they wanted The Cure πŸ™‚

See good things can happen if you try…and DO THE WORK! πŸ˜‰

Feeling very inspired πŸ™‚

I Need Your Help!

Tomorrow is Record Store Day and I have some exciting news I can share with you tomorrow!

However, today, I need your help πŸ™‚ Will you help me?

I have entered into a competition over at Talenthouse to design the cover of a one-of-a-kind vinyl of Ladyhawke’s newest album Anxiety. Β The competition was to explore the idea of anxiety by means of a self-portrait. Ladyhawke will choose 20 winners to be printed.

How can you help me? You can vote for me HERE!Β

Here’s my self-portrait πŸ™‚

Anxiety & The Deep Sea

I think the sea is a beautiful thing, but the bits that are unknown give me an uneasy feeling. It’s deep, dark and shadowy. There is an entire world down there that is so far from here that if you sunk nobody could ever find you. I think the fear of the unknown is very common. It’s what keeps us from following our dreams, taking chances, and persuing our passions. Sometimes it even prevents us from being happy and finding love.

This was an interesting project for me. A meditation. I never really thought about a self-portrait. It’s so personal. And it’s got me thinking that perhaps I need to start channelling my inner-Jacques Cousteau!
