SummerCure

It’s time again. Off to Ireland tomorrow to eventually catch my 3rd Cure gig of the the summer.  Thank goodness.

For fun, my ode to a Summer Cure and Electric Picnic.

And, why not, I made my own Summer Cure t-shirt that’s a little bit fun for casual Cure days. Haha…

Rough Draft.

Now that I’ve had a week to think about what I want to create, I’ve started to roughly sketch 3 pieces together. I have the colours in my mind, but I still have many questions..

And a lack of time. This thing called work get in the way sometimes. Also going back to Ireland very soon…

One thing this new project has taught me: I was discussing this whole art thing with my dad over a drink the other day and …honestly, I had no idea– he’s my biggest fan. I wish I would have known that a long time ago.

I’m so behind.

He says it’s not time wasted. I’ve just been researching.

First Commission.

The universe works in mysterious ways.

Just as I confessed that I’ve been struggling a bit with inspiration, I’ve received an invitation to create a  large original work of art for a colleague at work. Just by chance I showed her  ” Melancholia ” as an example of what I do, and she said that was exactly the type of piece she would like in her new home.

It has to be large which is not something I’ve done in a long time so there’s a challenge in itself. Also, I’ve been used to working in ink, but I can’t see that working on a large  canvas. I’m also considering — and I’m really excited about this — making it a triptych! So many things to consider…and not a lot of free time.

Thankfully there’s no pressure of a deadline. It sure has sparked my motivation. It’s just the encouragement I need.

I foresee supplies in my future!
