Sometimes you have to destroy a thing before it can become.

I like the concept. I was wondering if that could be applied to relationships (how people are changed after a relationship is “destroyed”) and then I remembered those lines by Wilde, in that poem (the ballad) he wrote when he was in prison I believe:

Yet each man kills the thing he loves,
By each let this be heard,
Some do it with a bitter look,
    Some with a flattering word,
The coward does it with a kiss,
The brave man with a sword!

Yes, I guess. Some people are destroyed after a relationship. Emotional cancer. If you don’t die from it, then you survive… but you are forever changed/transformed. Good or bad.

Or are you saying relationships destroy. Yes– because of how we see a relationship as two becoming one. We assimilate into the other. When the relationship ends, what is left? Our identity is lost. A new person is created. Changed/transformed.

i like that Wilde verse. We always hurt the ones we love the most. Love is a losing game. ETc etc.

      Thank you..

I just meant it in the sense that if they go bad you are transformed, which can be good (of course it can also be terrible). I like what you wrote about relationships. it could be a post in itself
